Blog # 22 - Gilmore Girls, Season 7, Episode 22

Okay so I skipped from season two all the way to season seven, but since this is my last required blog, I thought “hey, why not show how this show came to an end”. Alright, so this clips starts off in Rory’s room. Lorelai and Rory are discussing if it was a possibility that Luke a Lorelai get back together, she says that they probably won’t. Then the clip flashes to the good-by party that the town had thrown for Rory, the party was organized by Luke. Rory has grown up in Stars Hollow, so the entire town has grown to love her. So towards the end of the bug extravaganza, Sookie is telling Lorelai about Luke having the idea for the party. So Lorelai and Luke have a little chat and then they kiss and BAM the episode, season and show has come to an end. Personally I don’t mind the ending, I think it didn’t leave any questions unanswered, which is good. Some people can argue that it is a terrible ending, also it is rumoured that there might be a Gilmore girls movie to end the season “right”. So yea, I really like how Luke and Lorelai get back together in the end because I think that Luke is the best match out of all the boyfriends that Lorelai has had.

Blog # 21 - Gilmore Girls, Season 2, Episode 7

This episode take’s place at the dance contest that Stars Hollow has every year that Kurk usually wins. You can obviously see the tension between Rory and Jess, because this is when we truly start to see Rory’s true feelings for Jess. As you can also see is that Lane doesn’t like Jess very much, actually, not many people in town like him because he has that “bad boy” attitude that gets him into trouble. The fact that Rory has to start a fight with Jess just goes to show how much she truly likes him. I have to say Jess’ quick comments are pretty funny. So when the break is over Dean takes Lorelai’s place until she comes back, and Rory immediately looks at Jess and starts complaining about how he is looking at her and just sitting there. This really sets off a red flag in Dean’s mind and with the lack of sleep he just snaps. He ends their relationship then and there. So Rory goes off alone and she and Jess being talking about what just happened and what the future holds for them. In my opinion Jess and Rory are a better couple then Dean and Rory, just because Jess shares the same interests as Rory whereas Dean and her share very little interests.

Blog # 20 - Gilmore Girls, Season 2, Episode 3

Well I’ve been writing a lot about Rory and her Chilton life, so I’d though I would mix it up a bit and write about Lorelai and the rest of the town. I’d have to say, that this is probably on of my favourite episodes because it is just so darn funny. Alright so this episode has to do with Taylor having a traffic light installed right in front of Luke’s dinner. Of course Luke isn’t happy about this at all, so while Taylor is explaining to the town why they installed the light in the first place and Luke is outraged so he start to make snide comments. Sookie and Lorelai are busy planning her bachelorette party, since Lorelai is now engaged to Max, and they are set to wed very soon. So Taylor is showing off this big yellow button and it’s large yellow instruction panel and most people in the town find this panel insulting because, as Luke says, “it’s written for morons”. Luke and Taylor continue to argue, as usual, and then Taylor invites the oldest person in town, Miss Lanahan, to lead the first “historic” group arose the street. Of course this takes some time because she is very old and can barley walk, all the while, Kurk is taking picture of this “historic” event. Luke is now arguing with Sookie on why getting married is a bad idea and just overall ruining her mood.

Blog # 19 - Gilmore Girls, Season 1, Episode 21

Alright, so this takes place maybe a week after Tristan and Rory kissed, and as you can see, they are back to arguing with each other as if the kissed they shared didn’t even happen. So Tristan invites Rory to a concert and she say no because she doesn’t want to date him. After Rory walks away, Tristan Tells Paris, Madeline and Louise that he is dating Rory and that they are going to a concert together. This deeply upset Paris because despite everything, she still likes him. So has you can probably guess, Paris is now mad and hates Rory again, just as they were starting to get along. So now Rory is mad at Tristan because he is back to his old annoying self. He tries convincing her to go with him to the concert but she say no, Tristan takes her books but she just keeps on walking. That’s when she spots Dean, waiting for her, but Dean sees Tristan with Rory’s books and assumes that they are dating and get’s all mad. But the two, Rory and Dean, end up getting back together again and all is well.

This is the clip that is not shown in the one above, that shows what happens between the encounter with Dean and the make out scene.

Blog # 18 - Gilmore Girls, Season 1, Episode 17

So at Madeline’s party, Tristan and Summer are arguing because Summer was supposedly cheating on him in the bathroom with some guy named Austin. She walks off saying “oou, good song”, personally, I find this line super lame. Tristan turns around to find Paris, Lane and Rory looking at him, not with laugher in their eyes, but with a look oh pity and remorse. Tristan is later watching Sumer dance (badly) with someone else. Later Summer brakes up with Tristan in front of 20 or so people, Rory being one of them. So then, Rory walks in on Tristan playing the piano, they start talking about his break-up and then they move on to why Dean wasn’t at the party. Turns out they broke up the day before, on their three month anniversary because Dean “didn’t want to be her boyfriend anymore”, but the real reason was because Dean had said “I love you” but Rory wasn’t ready to say it back. So Tristan and Rory’s conversation get’s all sentimental and Tristan starts complimenting her and the two just kiss. Rory kisses back for awhile but the stops because she is crying, not because of anything Tristan did, but because she was still upset about her own break up with Dean. Personally, I think Dean was an idiot, like Tristan said, because in my opinion he overreacted just a tad.

Blog # 17 - Gilmore Girls, Season 1, Episode 16

So this Clip starts off showing Tristan and His girlfriend, Summer, making out in front of Paris and Rory’s lockers. Madeline, Paris and Louise are all chatting about how ridiculous it is, how Madeline wants a boyfriend and how Paris is going to get to her locker. Fed up with this nonsense, Paris walks up to the couple and starts loudly telling them to move, as to get their attention, no luck. Rory walks up and starts a conversation with Paris, surprisingly Paris isn’t mean to Rory because the one thing they hate more then each other is Tristan. Then Rory says “God look at that, it’s like he’s eating her face”. I got a good chuckle out of that line, it’s funny because it’s true. Anyway Rory eventually taps Tristan on the shoulder, getting their attention, and asks them to move. Before they do, however, Summer tells Paris that she should get bangs because she has a long forehead. Paris doesn’t take to kindly to these words, but before she has a chance to say anything or do anything to Summer, Madeline interrupts and invites Summer, Tristan and Rory to a party at her house.

Blog # 16 - Gilmore Girls, Season 1, Episode 9

Alright, well this scene starts off at Chilton, in line when Tristan goes to buy his ticket. Paris is selling the tickets and Tristan compliments her, making her all nervous, which is defiantly not how she normally acts. Then, Tristan walks over to Rory, who is ready like always, and tries to give him the “cold shoulder”, which doesn’t work because he is very persistent. Rory suggests that Tristan ask Sissy to the dance. The scene then flash forwards to the dance. Tristan is leaning ageist the wall, watching Rory and Dean dance. Sissy comes and the two go off to make-out. Then we see Dean, coming back with the coats, both his and Rory’s, because the two decided to leave. But before Dean gives Rory her coat, Tristan comes up to Dean and tries to start some sort of argument, I think Dean handled it pretty well. So then Rory comes up, wearing the dress her mom made her, and asks Dean if everything is alright. Tristan at one point says “oh yea, we’re just about to build a clubhouse”, I though this was so so funny, and very clever on Tristan’s part. When Dean and Rory were just about to leave, Tristan starts some what of a “fight” but Dean ends it. It doesn’t show it in the clip, but Paris brought he cousin to the dance because she couldn’t get a date. Her “date” tries to get Rory’s number but she declines.

Blog # 15 - Gilmore Girls, Season 1, Episode 2

Okay so this scene is Rory’s first day at Chilton. As you can tell by Paris’ side death glare, she already does not like Rory. Tristan introduces himself and calls Rory by the name of “Mary”, referring to her innocent looks and goody-two-shoes-ness. Tristan tries so flirt and be charming towards Rory. At this point she is unaware of how to react around a boy, since she has yet to have a boyfriend., (That later changes when she dates Dean, obviously.) so she stammers with her words. So what this clips doesn’t show is that right before class, Rory accidentally broke Paris’ project that was due that day. So when it came time to present, Paris was lacking a project to present. The teacher gives her extra time and assigns Rory to help her. Paris rudely and loudly declines and has until the next day do finish the project. Rory try to apologize, but her attempts are a inconclusive. Anyways, when the teacher asks questions, Paris is normally the one to answer, but she is caught off guard when Rory beats her to the punch. This only angers Paris more and she threatens Rory in a way. In the end Rory has made an enemy and Tristan still calls her “Mary”.

Blog # 14 - Gilmore Girls, character info, Dave, Marty and Doyle

Adam Brody as Dave
Rygalski.

Danny strong as Doyle
McMaster.

Wayne Wilcox as Marty.

Dave Rygalski (played by Adam Brody http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Brody ) was a guitarist for Hep Alien, and was Lane’s boyfriend for awhile. The two broke up and Dave left the band to attend college in California. Lane began dating Zach a little while after she and Dave broke up. Marty (played by Wayne Wilcox http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wayne_Wilcox ) is a university student at Yale. Rory’s first encounter with Marty was when she found him drunk, passed out naked in the hallway in front of Rory’s room. She lends him her housecoat. Oddly they become good friends after that and Marty develops a crush on her. Unfortunately the two never date because Rory doesn’t feel the same way. Personally, I think they should have dated because I think they would have made an awesome couple. Marty is adopted. Doyle McMaster (played by Danny Strong http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_Strong ) is another student at Yale, he is the editor of the Yale Daily News during the first year that Rory attends Yale. He gets mad easily and is somewhat of a pansy. He starts dating Paris, some say that the two are a perfect match. I on the hand think that she could do better.

Here is a video of when Rory met Marty.

Blog # 13 - Gilmore Girls, character info, Brian, Zach and Gil

John Cabrera as Brian Fuller.
Todd Lowe as Zach Van Gerbig
Sebastian Bach as Gil.
Brian Fuller (played by John Cabrera http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Cabrera ) is one of the members of Hep Alien, the band which Lane is also in. He plays the bass. Brian can be described as a nerd, a geek and a germaphobe. He has several medical problems such as asthma, hypoglycemia, rosacea and a deviated septum. Zach Van Gerbig (played by Todd Lowe http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Todd_Lowe ) is the lead singer and guitar player for the band Hep Alien. He dates Lane earlier in the show but the two brake up and the band "takes a break". Zach and Lane get back together eventually and Zach preposes to Lane. The two get married and the band gets back together at their wedding. But when Lane becomes pregnant with twins, Kwan and Steve, the band separates once again. Gil (played by Sebastian Bach http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sebastian_Bach ) owned a sandwich shop but wanted to become a rock star. He is another sing and guitar player in the band. He joins as a replacement for Dave. He has a wife children. Out of all three guys, my favourite is Brian. In my opinion I think that Lane and Zach are a weird couple, and I don’t really like them together.

Blog # 12 - Gilmore Girls, character info, Madeline, Louise and Tristan

Shelly Cole as Madeline Lynn, left, Teal Redmann as Louise
Grant, middle, and Liza Weil as Paris Geller, right.

Chad Michael Murray as Tristan DuGrey

Louise Grant (played by Teal Redmann  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teal_Redmann ) and Madeline Lynn (played by Shelly Cole http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shelly_Cole ) are Paris’ best friends. Louise is very emotionless and Madeline is not to bright. The two are more interested in boys then they are in school work. Tristan DuGrey (played by Chad Michael Murray http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chad_Michael_Murray ) is fellow classmate, at Chilton, of Paris, Madeline, Louise and Rory. Paris is completely infatuated with him but he has his eye on Rory, always bugging and annoying her, calling her “Mary”. Rory eventually gets rid of him at a dance when Dean puts him in his place. Later at a party, after Dean and Rory brake up, Tristan and Rory kiss. Rory starts to cry because she is confused emotionally. Rory suggests to Tristan, that he should date Paris, he does but they brake up because Paris wasn’t the one for him. Tristan later gets into pranking and shirked off his school work. After a prank went to far, Tristan’s father sends him to military school right before a class presentation, which he was to play Romeo. Tristan’s last words on the show were "Take care of yourself....Mary.", to which Rory laughed and sighed has he turned and walk away. Out of the three, i'd have to say that I like Madeline the best because she is more friendly and not so emotionless.

Arthuro Medina (played by Scott Cohen http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Cohen_(actor) ) Is Rory’s English teacher in her sophomore year at Chilton. He dates Lorelai and the he proposes to her. She said yes, but the morning of the wedding she got cold feet and went on a vacation with Rory instead and didn’t tell anyone that the wedding is off. After the brake-up, Max is crushed but later states that he is over it. A kiss later on clearly shows that the two aren’t over each other, but Max says that its best if they never saw or spoke to each other again. Jason Stiles, or sometimes known as Digger (played by Chris Eigeman, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chris_Eigeman ) met Lorelai at camp when they were younger, at this camp is where he was given the nickname “Digger”. He later encounters Lorelai again when he joins her fathers company. He keeps pestering Lorelai to go out on a date with him until she finally says “yes”. Jason sues Lorelai’s father, Richard, for stealing his clients, when he told Lorelai of his plans, she begs him not to do it. When he refuses to give up the lawsuit, she ends their relationship. He later appears one last time at The Dragonfly Inn, but Lorelai is in a stedy relationship with Luke then and tells him to leave. Blog # 9 - Gilmore Girls, character info, Taylor, Christopher and Sherry

Taylor Doose (played by Michael Winters  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Winters ) is town selectmen for Stars Hollow, he also owns Doose's Market and Taylor's Old Fashioned Soda Shoppe. Taylor is a very persistent, fussy but kind and follows the town rules very strictly. He is a pain-in-the-butt to almost everyone around him, especially to Luke. Taylor has remained single throughout the entire show, and has never mentioned an ex or a present partner. Christopher Hayden, sometimes known as Chris, (played by David Sutcliffe http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/David_Sutcliffe ) is Rory’s father. Rory hopes that he and her mother will get back together. After awhile, of obvious chemistry, Chris asks Lorelai to marry him, she says “no” because she thinks he is not ready for the responsibly and stability it takes to be apart of a family. He then leaves, but comes to visit later on, he ditched his motorcycle and bought a Volvo and gets a stable job. Lorelai likes what she sees, sensing that that Chris has “turned his life around” she tells him that she thinks they should begin dating, Chris then informs her that all this responsibility and stableness is due to his girlfriend, Sherry. (Played by Mädchen Amick http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M%C3%A4dchen_Amick ) The two later have a baby girl that they name Georgia, also known as Gigi. After Sherry leaves Chris for a job in Paris, he calls Lorelai, needing help raising Gigi. When his father dies he becomes very sad and lonely. Rory and Lorelai try to comfort him, this later causes a conflict in the relationship of Lorelai and Luke and they temporarily split up. He then suddenly becomes rich and pays for Rory’s school. Chris and Lorelai begin dating later on but brake up because Lorelai realises she has never stopped loving Luke. Luke and Lorelai get back together in the very last episode of the show.

Patricia LaCosta, more commonly known as Miss Patty, (played by Liz Torres http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liz_Torres ) is the dance teacher in Stars Hollow, she is often ranting and raving about her dancing and singing career when she was younger. Her dance studio is used for town meetings and other gatherings. She has been married and divorced many times and is often “hitting” on younger guys. She often mentions that she wishes she could get married again. Miss Patty and Babette are very into the toen’s gossip and are usually the first to know about it. Babette Dell (played by Sally Struthers http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sally_Struthers ) is Lorelai and Rory’s chatty and boisterous next door neighbour. Babette is very particular about her garden gnomes, her favourite is Pierpont. She had a cat named Cinnamon, after Cinnamon dies, Morey and her had a wake for the cat in their home, which everyone in town attended. They later got a cat named Apricot, which Rory house-sits. Babette is married to Morey Dell (played by Ted Rooney) who is has a “chill” personality. He is very tall, thin and quiet, the opposite of Babette, who is short, plump and loud.

Blog # 7 - Gilmore Girls character info, Paris and Kirk

Liza Weil as Paris Geller.

Sean Gunn as Kirk Gleason.

Paris Eustace Geller (played by Liza Weil
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liza_Weil ) is a spoiled Jewish rich girl. She was mainly raised by her nanny. At first she was Rory’s enemy because of their similar grades, interests in college, boys ect… They slowly warm up to each other and become best friends. Paris has a big crush on Tristin, but it just so happens that Tristin has a thing for Rory and tries to start a fight with her boyfriend at the time, Dean. Tristin’s crush on Rory is one of the reasons that Paris hates Rory in the beginning. Paris dreams of attending Harvard University, but she ends up going to Yale instead after being rejected by Harvard. Kirk Gleason (played by Sean Gunn http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sean_Gunn ) is a weird, sweet-hearted man, he has had a crush on Lorelai for a long time until he meets, dates and falls in love with Lulu. Kirk has had 34 (that I know of) jobs on the show, this includes swan deliverer, Doose’s assistant manager, flower delivery boy, photographer, auto repair man, Brace Bridge Dinner server, Exterminator, video store clerk, Hay There bath product seller/creator, Sookie’s wedding photo deliverer, Taylor’s undercover Soda Shopee person, waiter at Weston’s, beauty shop clerk, director or ‘Buckle up on Patty”, hockey commentator, mailman, daily T-shirt seller/creator, pizza delivery boy, mold finder, grand opening poster hanger for Soda Shopee, sky diver, Stars Hollow security, custom mailbox seller/creator, dog sitter,
pedicab driver, Doose’s cashier, D.J. at Liz and T.J.’s wedding, firewood supplier, black white and red theatre manager, hotdog mascot, bathtub slip grip seller and ring seller.

Blog # 6 - Gilmore Girls character info, Dean, Jess and Lindsay

Jared Padalecki as Dean
Forester.

                          Milo Ventimiglia as Jess
                      Mariano.

Arielle Kebbel as Lindsay Lister.
Dean Forester (played by Jared Padalecki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jared_Padalecki ) was the new guy in town, he has a sister named Clara and was Rory’s first boyfriend. Dean and Rory start to spend more time together and eventually start dating. They eventually start to have problems in their relationship due to the arrival of Jess Mariano (played by Milo Ventimiglia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Milo_Ventimiglia ) who is Luke’s nephew. Jess’ mom, Liz, sent him to live with his uncle Luke in hope to “point him in the right direction”. He gets a job at Wal*Mart and starts hanging out with Rory, he seems to be heading in the right direction. It was quite evident that he had a crush on Rory and she starts to have feelings for him too. Dean gets jealous and brakes up with Rory. Although he was the reason for braking up Dean and Rory’s relationship, he begins dating Rory, but they have communication issues and end the relationship. After Rory graduates from Chilton, Jess leaves Stars Hollow for California. He later reappears briefly in season 4 and then again in season 7.  After Rory and Dean brake up, (while Jess and Rory are dating), Dean starts dating a girl named Lindsay Lister (played by Arielle Kebbel http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Arielle_Kebbel ) and marries her. Dean soon figures out that marrying Lindsay was a mistake because he is still madly in love with Rory. He and Rory start an affair, which is Rory’s “first time”. Lindsay eventually finds out and kicks Dean out. They divorce and soon after, Rory and Dean start dating but brake up for good because Rory starts to have feelings for a rich guy named Logan. I didn't really like Lindsay because she didn't seem like the girl for Dean. If I had to pick between Dean and Jess, i'd have a difficult time because i'm not to sure about who I think should be with Rory. They are both pretty awesome.

Blog # 5 - Gilmore Girls character info, Luke and Michel

Scott Patterson as Luke Danes.
Yanic Truesdale as Michel
Gerard.

Luke Danes (played by Scott Patterson http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scott_Patterson_(actor) ) owns a diner in Stars Hollow named “Luke’s Diner” that was previously owned by his father as a hardware store called “William’s Hardware”. Luke’s father was left to raised him and his sister, Liz, by himself when their mom passed away when they were very young. When his father died, Luke took ownership of the store and converted it into a diner, but kept it’s original name for awhile. Everyone in Stars Hollow seems to know about Luke’s crush on Lorelai, but he doesn’t act on it until the sixth season. Luke later finds out in the middle season six, that he had a 12 year old daughter named April, this causes strain on Luke and Lorelai‘s relationship. Michel Gerard (played by Yanic Truesdale http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yanic_Truesdale ) is the concierge at the Independence Inn. Michel is French, snobbish and not very polite or nice to anyone. He has a very distinguished style and a strict low carb diet. In the beginning, Michel holds a lot of hostility towards Luke and pretty much everyone he talks to, but as the series goes on Michel seems to become more friendly and tolerant of those around him.

Mrs. Kim owns an antique shop in her house. Lane later gets married to Zach Van Gerbig. She ends up having a fake traditional Korean Buddhist wedding just before her actual wedding because Lane’s grandmother doesn’t know that they are Christens and Mrs. Kim doesn’t want to tell her that they are. After the fake wedding they all go to the Stars Hollow church and do a Catholic wedding and have a grand after-party that all people of Stars Hollow are invited to, since its such a little town and everyone knows each other.

Blog # 3 - Gilmore Girls character info, Richard and Emily

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edward_Herrmann#Filmography ) is an executive in an insurance company, then he starts his own company then finally works as a professor at Yale University. He is Lorelai’s father, Rory’s grandfather and husband to Emily Gilmore. (Played by Kelly Bishop http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kelly_Bishop ) Emily is Lorelai’s mother, Rory’s grandmother and of course, Richard’s wife. She is a stay-at-home wife and is very particular about appearances. Her mother-daughter relationship with Lorelai is not a very strong one due to her snobbish personality, but she establishes Friday night dinners that Rory and Lorelai must attend every Friday night at seven PM in exchange for Rory’s in hopes for a better relationship. Richard and Lorelai don’t have much of father-daughter relationship either, but it is a better one the that of Emily’s. Despite the issues between his daughter, Richard and Rory are very close. Emily is very active in the Hartford community. She a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Symphony Fundraising Committee, the President of the Horticultural Society, a Co-Chair of the Starlight Foundation the Hartford Zoological Silent Auction, the Mark Twain House Restoration Fund Luncheon, and the Harriet Beecher Stowe Literacy Auction. If i had to pick a favourite out of the two, I wouldn't know who to pick because they both add some much caracter to the show and  i couldn't imagine the show without them.
