Blog # 18 - Gilmore Girls, Season 1, Episode 17

So at Madeline’s party, Tristan and Summer are arguing because Summer was supposedly cheating on him in the bathroom with some guy named Austin. She walks off saying “oou, good song”, personally, I find this line super lame. Tristan turns around to find Paris, Lane and Rory looking at him, not with laugher in their eyes, but with a look oh pity and remorse. Tristan is later watching Sumer dance (badly) with someone else. Later Summer brakes up with Tristan in front of 20 or so people, Rory being one of them. So then, Rory walks in on Tristan playing the piano, they start talking about his break-up and then they move on to why Dean wasn’t at the party. Turns out they broke up the day before, on their three month anniversary because Dean “didn’t want to be her boyfriend anymore”, but the real reason was because Dean had said “I love you” but Rory wasn’t ready to say it back. So Tristan and Rory’s conversation get’s all sentimental and Tristan starts complimenting her and the two just kiss. Rory kisses back for awhile but the stops because she is crying, not because of anything Tristan did, but because she was still upset about her own break up with Dean. Personally, I think Dean was an idiot, like Tristan said, because in my opinion he overreacted just a tad.

Blog # 17 - Gilmore Girls, Season 1, Episode 16

So this Clip starts off showing Tristan and His girlfriend, Summer, making out in front of Paris and Rory’s lockers. Madeline, Paris and Louise are all chatting about how ridiculous it is, how Madeline wants a boyfriend and how Paris is going to get to her locker. Fed up with this nonsense, Paris walks up to the couple and starts loudly telling them to move, as to get their attention, no luck. Rory walks up and starts a conversation with Paris, surprisingly Paris isn’t mean to Rory because the one thing they hate more then each other is Tristan. Then Rory says “God look at that, it’s like he’s eating her face”. I got a good chuckle out of that line, it’s funny because it’s true. Anyway Rory eventually taps Tristan on the shoulder, getting their attention, and asks them to move. Before they do, however, Summer tells Paris that she should get bangs because she has a long forehead. Paris doesn’t take to kindly to these words, but before she has a chance to say anything or do anything to Summer, Madeline interrupts and invites Summer, Tristan and Rory to a party at her house.

Blog # 16 - Gilmore Girls, Season 1, Episode 9

Alright, well this scene starts off at Chilton, in line when Tristan goes to buy his ticket. Paris is selling the tickets and Tristan compliments her, making her all nervous, which is defiantly not how she normally acts. Then, Tristan walks over to Rory, who is ready like always, and tries to give him the “cold shoulder”, which doesn’t work because he is very persistent. Rory suggests that Tristan ask Sissy to the dance. The scene then flash forwards to the dance. Tristan is leaning ageist the wall, watching Rory and Dean dance. Sissy comes and the two go off to make-out. Then we see Dean, coming back with the coats, both his and Rory’s, because the two decided to leave. But before Dean gives Rory her coat, Tristan comes up to Dean and tries to start some sort of argument, I think Dean handled it pretty well. So then Rory comes up, wearing the dress her mom made her, and asks Dean if everything is alright. Tristan at one point says “oh yea, we’re just about to build a clubhouse”, I though this was so so funny, and very clever on Tristan’s part. When Dean and Rory were just about to leave, Tristan starts some what of a “fight” but Dean ends it. It doesn’t show it in the clip, but Paris brought he cousin to the dance because she couldn’t get a date. Her “date” tries to get Rory’s number but she declines.

Blog # 15 - Gilmore Girls, Season 1, Episode 2

Okay so this scene is Rory’s first day at Chilton. As you can tell by Paris’ side death glare, she already does not like Rory. Tristan introduces himself and calls Rory by the name of “Mary”, referring to her innocent looks and goody-two-shoes-ness. Tristan tries so flirt and be charming towards Rory. At this point she is unaware of how to react around a boy, since she has yet to have a boyfriend., (That later changes when she dates Dean, obviously.) so she stammers with her words. So what this clips doesn’t show is that right before class, Rory accidentally broke Paris’ project that was due that day. So when it came time to present, Paris was lacking a project to present. The teacher gives her extra time and assigns Rory to help her. Paris rudely and loudly declines and has until the next day do finish the project. Rory try to apologize, but her attempts are a inconclusive. Anyways, when the teacher asks questions, Paris is normally the one to answer, but she is caught off guard when Rory beats her to the punch. This only angers Paris more and she threatens Rory in a way. In the end Rory has made an enemy and Tristan still calls her “Mary”.

Blog # 14 - Gilmore Girls, character info, Dave, Marty and Doyle

Adam Brody as Dave
Rygalski.

Danny strong as Doyle
McMaster.

Wayne Wilcox as Marty.

Dave Rygalski (played by Adam Brody http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adam_Brody ) was a guitarist for Hep Alien, and was Lane’s boyfriend for awhile. The two broke up and Dave left the band to attend college in California. Lane began dating Zach a little while after she and Dave broke up. Marty (played by Wayne Wilcox http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wayne_Wilcox ) is a university student at Yale. Rory’s first encounter with Marty was when she found him drunk, passed out naked in the hallway in front of Rory’s room. She lends him her housecoat. Oddly they become good friends after that and Marty develops a crush on her. Unfortunately the two never date because Rory doesn’t feel the same way. Personally, I think they should have dated because I think they would have made an awesome couple. Marty is adopted. Doyle McMaster (played by Danny Strong http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Danny_Strong ) is another student at Yale, he is the editor of the Yale Daily News during the first year that Rory attends Yale. He gets mad easily and is somewhat of a pansy. He starts dating Paris, some say that the two are a perfect match. I on the hand think that she could do better.

Here is a video of when Rory met Marty.

Blog # 13 - Gilmore Girls, character info, Brian, Zach and Gil

John Cabrera as Brian Fuller.
Todd Lowe as Zach Van Gerbig
Sebastian Bach as Gil.
Brian Fuller (played by John Cabrera http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Cabrera ) is one of the members of Hep Alien, the band which Lane is also in. He plays the bass. Brian can be described as a nerd, a geek and a germaphobe. He has several medical problems such as asthma, hypoglycemia, rosacea and a deviated septum. Zach Van Gerbig (played by Todd Lowe http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Todd_Lowe ) is the lead singer and guitar player for the band Hep Alien. He dates Lane earlier in the show but the two brake up and the band "takes a break". Zach and Lane get back together eventually and Zach preposes to Lane. The two get married and the band gets back together at their wedding. But when Lane becomes pregnant with twins, Kwan and Steve, the band separates once again. Gil (played by Sebastian Bach http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sebastian_Bach ) owned a sandwich shop but wanted to become a rock star. He is another sing and guitar player in the band. He joins as a replacement for Dave. He has a wife children. Out of all three guys, my favourite is Brian. In my opinion I think that Lane and Zach are a weird couple, and I don’t really like them together.

Blog # 12 - Gilmore Girls, character info, Madeline, Louise and Tristan

Shelly Cole as Madeline Lynn, left, Teal Redmann as Louise
Grant, middle, and Liza Weil as Paris Geller, right.

Chad Michael Murray as Tristan DuGrey

Louise Grant (played by Teal Redmann  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Teal_Redmann ) and Madeline Lynn (played by Shelly Cole http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shelly_Cole ) are Paris’ best friends. Louise is very emotionless and Madeline is not to bright. The two are more interested in boys then they are in school work. Tristan DuGrey (played by Chad Michael Murray http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chad_Michael_Murray ) is fellow classmate, at Chilton, of Paris, Madeline, Louise and Rory. Paris is completely infatuated with him but he has his eye on Rory, always bugging and annoying her, calling her “Mary”. Rory eventually gets rid of him at a dance when Dean puts him in his place. Later at a party, after Dean and Rory brake up, Tristan and Rory kiss. Rory starts to cry because she is confused emotionally. Rory suggests to Tristan, that he should date Paris, he does but they brake up because Paris wasn’t the one for him. Tristan later gets into pranking and shirked off his school work. After a prank went to far, Tristan’s father sends him to military school right before a class presentation, which he was to play Romeo. Tristan’s last words on the show were "Take care of yourself....Mary.", to which Rory laughed and sighed has he turned and walk away. Out of the three, i'd have to say that I like Madeline the best because she is more friendly and not so emotionless.
